Ellie: Seven Months

Ellie has grown up so much since my last post. She sits up on her own. We made a mat on the floor surrounded by pillows where she can play. She gets down on her hands and knees and rocks. She can't quite crawl yet but shimmies backwards and around. If you hold onto her hands she can pull up to standing. She just realized the other day she can pull herself up using her crib bars.

Sleep:

Until recently she was doing so well at night time. We could put her down walk away and 5 mins later she would be asleep. Now that she can easily roll and get up its a lot harder. She gets up, rolls around and cries when she can't get back into a comfortable position. Which right now is lying on her right side. We got a mobile, but right now it doesn't help much. If we stay in her room she doesn't calm down, so we started leaving and checking in every 5 mins.

Eat:

Ellie likes purees now. She has rice cereal with a little pouch squeezed in for breakfast at 9am. And at 6:30 She has homemade baby food. Right now she's eating apple, spinach, pea; a pear, clove mix; and red pepper, potatoes. She still has a bottle every 4 hours, plus a bottle  I pump at work and bring home for the next day.

Play:

Her favourite toys now are her guitar, her rings, and her stacking blocks. Besides that anything she can put in her mouth is a toy. Even though it's not her toy ( its mommies toy) she loves to grab for our phones.
